Born from the ashes of various musical projects that reached their natural conclusion, Andy Hanson embarked on a solo journey. This journey begins in his home base of Eau Claire, WI, and unfolds through carefully crafted folk and Americana songs. At the heart of his music lies a deep yearning to explore the essence of life, death, and the musical avenues that can expel the shame and guilt born out of perceived social norms.

For artistic inspiration, Andy draws from a diverse range of influences, blending the timeless artistry of folk legends from the 1960s with the fresh perspectives of contemporary songwriters. His sound evokes the spirit of Bob Dylan, intertwined with the emotive storytelling of artists like Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, Amigo the Devil, and Jeffrey Martin.

Gravity

Recorded in the summer of 2025 at Sueño Royale' Studios in Eau Claire, WI.,  the Philville Records debut single by Eau Claire, Wisconsin based singer/songwriter Andy Hanson blends soaring vocals with his signature folk and singer/songwriter acoustic guitar chops -- the end result is something that  approaches indie rock but also is reminiscent of some of the best of 90's acoustic pop.

Featuring Jerord Kaszynski on up-right bass, and Matthew R. Sayles on lap-steel & telecaster, Gravity builds upon Andy's most recent record, Roots, and also hints at some new musical directions for this highly talented Midwestern artist.  The single was produced by Matthew R. Sayles & Andy Hanson, and mixed/mastered & engineered by Sayles and his co-producer, Basil Lajuenesse. Studio assistants and techs were Melquiades McClain and Persephone DelGato.
